Raiffeisen Bank is initiating its digital transformation in response to the changing needs of its clients, the first step of this initiative being the use of Google Apps for Work as an e-mailing, document storage and sharing solution. The move will be accompanied by the introduction of a new social network and the improvement of mobile access through Android for Work.

According to a bank communiqué, Raiffeisen Bank is the first Romanian bank to switch to Google Apps. Google Apps for Work allows Raiffeisen employees to engage in real-time collaboration on the drafting of documents, to share good practices and to communicate more efficiently, while Android for Work allows them to be more productive by using their mobile phones.

“The switch to Google Apps is a step toward our digital transformation, the goal being to change the way Raiffeisen Bank employees work and support the clients. I have the conviction that the introduction of the new collaborative instruments will help us more rapidly access information, share knowledge and make the switch from cooperation to collaboration,” Raiffeisen Bank Operations and IT Vice President Carl Rossey stated.

“Raiffeisen Bank is an important brand on the Romanian financial market and we are glad we have the opportunity to collaborate. The fact that the bank has switched to Google proves that Google Apps for Work and Android for Work are the perfect instruments for big companies,” Google Romania Country Manager Dan Bulucea stated.

Raiffeisen Bank SA has as clients approximately 2 million individuals, 100,000 SMEs and 7,800 companies. In mid-2015, Raiffeisen Bank’s network consisted of over 500 offices, over 1,100 ATMs and approximately 13,400 EPOSs.
